Madelaine Middle-Name-Redacted-Because-She'll-Kill-Me Zuke and I have been the best of friends since we were six. You heard me. Six. Do you know what that means?
We have hit year 17 of Friendship!! She's stuck with me! For LIFE! Take that Zuke!

Yeah, she doesn't care. She knows that. Her typical response is "And you're stuck with me! For life!" We've been friends for 17 years. I think I would know what she'd say.
Why am I telling you all this? Because this weekend, Maddie sent me a text and said, "Wanna go take some pictures?" to which I responded, "YESSSSSSSSS" (taken from the literal text message).
We went forth in the wonderful adventure that is Forest Park, went to Art Hill, and ended up taking a detour into the Art Museum because it was hot and we have zero self control. We went adventuring attempting to find the mummies (because it's my favorite exhibit. I'm into creepy stuff, sue me) and we went around and took goofy pictures with the statues and different pieces that we love or we just found entertaining.

It was a blast. We spent the entire time laughing and just being our crazy selves and that's honestly just the best. And isn't that what true friendship is?
Yes, this post is partially just to brag about Maddie and how much I love her (don't get jealous those who know who they are), but it's also to say that sometimes we just need these people in our lives.
We need the people who can make us life who make us laugh, who love us no matter what and are willing to go on crazy adventures no matter the time of day. When times are rough and crazy, we need those friends who will just be there and stay there and annoy you beyond a shadow of a doubt. We need those weirdos who somehow worm their way into our house and eventually our families, and end up waiting for you in your house with your parents because you were late getting home from college, so she and your other best friend are sitting there just talking and making conversation with your parents.

Too specific? I know. But you also know you've seen similar scenarios.
So love those people who come into your life, cherish them, go crazy and hold on for dear life because when things get too much, they're there.
