The Young Witch Explores Frustration

I should never end a blog with "Next week I'll talk about blank." Too much ends up happening and it's a problem because last week was frustrating.
It all really started Saturday afternoon of last week, when I discovered that the mixing bowls in my apartments communal cabinets were missing (to preface, I have a, for lack of a kinder word, interesting rooming situation), along with a good amount cookware. Knowing this meant these dishes were no longer for communal use (thanks for the notice), I spent Sunday morning tallying what I had to now buy and replace and what I could wait on purchasing.
Monday, as I said last week, my friend/coworker Alissa saw our other friend/coworker, Alexis had a wasp on her which led to very long drawn out effort to a) get the wasp out of the room, b) get it off the jacket and c) not get stung in the process. We did it successfully but we were very stressed out in the moment.

Tuesday, I had a sub in one of my partner teachers class. Normally this wouldn't be too much of a problem. However, I had this sub before in a class, and they had not left a good impression on my kids, at all. Which led to me having to lead the class (which is not my job), becoming sick with a stress headache, feeling lightheaded and going home early.
Wednesday, I had to proctor the SAT for a group of 11 kids, which was actually relaxing for the most part, but left me with a bunch of kids I had no answers for when it came to can we get out early and having to consistently remind them that, no, you cannot be on your phone.
Thursday, our school introduced a new system, linked to Sandy Hook Promise, to let kids better communicate when they see students in position of being harmed or harming others. I honestly think this is kind of a neat initiative, especially since I am absolutely terrified of school shootings, and I greatly appreciate that people are thinking of prevention methods. My students, however, decided it was a great time for nap time. My students are only a year older than the students who died in Sandy Hook. We live 30 minutes away from Gilroy. You would think this would have a little more impact, but apparently it only does to me.
By the weekend, I was exhausted. Then, Daylight Savings happened and my only strapless bra decided the it was time to stick my boob with its wire. So now, it's Monday and I am sleepy, exhausted and desperately wanting to watch YouTube videos in bed.
Yes. This blog is just one giant complaint. I had a really bad week. I would have had a much worse week though, if I didn't have a good support system.
When I told my parents about dish incident, they helped me order some new, better supplies. The wasp incident on Monday would not have ended as well, if it hadn't been the three of us there together to fight it off. On Tuesday, Rhicka invited me to go to a big event with Paul Nicklen (National Geographic photographer is so, so cool. Somewhat literally). Thursday, Yoletci invited me to go to a choir concert at her school to watch some her students, and to be honest, it was pretty gosh darn amazing. Then Saturday, I just got to take some time and relax. Not to even mention, I started planning my big LA spring break trip.
Yeah, it was a bad week, but it's not the worst in the world and sometimes, some support is all we need to get through. Well. That's this week's life lesson. I'm not planning for next week's. It never seems to work out well.
